It’s easy to learn how to keyframe flying spheres and apply materials, or to make a decent render. The little details make or break a piece. All of the good stuff was made with C4D and some custom coding. It’s worth looking through all the stills on his Oblivion page, and the Tron page.
The still image above is from his UI work on the movie Oblivion. His work is both inspiring and intimidating (mark of a true genius). MN8: this guy (Jake Sargeant) is a freakin’ amazing artist. I am more into these types of projects, than I am monster modeling, car ads, etc. Below are links to three reels from my favorite C4D artists, especially in the area of motion graphics and 3D design. This is my first post, and I’m pretty excited! I’m still working on the plans for this site, but I thought I’d get started now.
Here are just a few of the fixes and optimizations from a much larger list in Cinema 4D R15 Service Pack 2.
Manual - link added to the Xpresso nodes documentation, other small updates added.
Developer/Python API - maximum particle count setting missing from the API functions.Server Connection Proxy Support added (see ‘Using X-Particles over a network’ in the manual for details).Change Group modifier/action - switch added to preserve particle colour when group changed.XP Material - fixed bug where the density modification did not affect particle colour.XP Material - support added for compositing tag on the emitter.XP Material - problem with color sampling due to C4D ray cast.Spline Distance question - not working correctly when particle neared end of spline.Kill modifier - would not use the Connect object correctly also additional support added for multiple objects.Particle density - not resetting correctly for each frame, causing incorrect display in the viewport.Loading cache files - small speed up during reading the cache folder and major speed up once buffered.Loading cache files - files would sometimes load in the incorrect order.Subframe emission - modifiers evaluated incorrectly which could cause gaps in the particle stream.System object - copying/pasting a System object and its hierarchy would revert Question and Action object names to their default.Particle-particle collisions - not working, would simply bring particles to a halt.
Just found a new update is available when launching C4D, all previous updates for 2.5 are included, plus the following new fixes: X-Particles: Version 2.55 Available Via Updater
